The story of Henry Langdon’s tea goes back over one hundred years – as the origins of all good teas should.
Henry Joseph Langdon arrived in Australia in 1852 with his wife and child, at the height of the
Australian gold rush. He’d taken a punt on the money flowing into the streets by bringing along some champagne, chocolate and brandy to sell. Thankfully he’d read the market perfectly and a solid importing career was born.
Since then, Henry Langdon has expanded to import luxurious foods
including tea, herbs and spices. Five generations on, the Landgons’
loose leaf range of tea includes varieties from as far as India and
Ceylon, as well as herbal concoctions and exotic choices such as chai.
Henry Langdon has sourced the best quality peppermint leaves you can use to make a refreshing tea that is just as satisfying hot or cold. The large, whole peppermint leaves have a high volatile oil content, resulting in a refreshing, aromatic tea to enjoy at any time of day.
It is the volatile oils that provide the health benefits associated with the drinking of peppermint as a herbal tea. Peppermint has long been believed to have a calming effect on the digestive system due to its muscle relaxing properties. It is also rich in a wide range of vitamins and minerals as well as antioxidants.
